About Alexa Meade

Understanding the hidden risk of a second cardiovascular event after surviving a heart attack or ischemic stroke, and how risk factors can be managed, can empower survivors to take necessary steps to manage certain risk factors.

With her unique artistic vision, LA-based artist Alexa Meade will work with three heart attack survivors to capture the evolution of their recovery in a living art installation in Downtown Manhattan. From feeling alone and fearful, blending into the background of their lives, to understanding their risk factors and the steps they can take to prevent a second cardiovascular event, Alexa will paint the survivors back into the full color picture of the life they can now continue living.
